Encryption means turning readable information into a coded form so other people can’t read it without the right key.
In simple terms, it protects data like messages, passwords, and bank details by making them unreadable to anyone who isn’t supposed to see them.
For example, when you send a message or enter card details online, encryption helps keep that information private while it travels across the internet.
You may have also heard of End-to-end encryption which means only the sender and the person receiving the message can read it. Even the app or service in the middle can’t see what’s being sent.
A simple example is a private chat message: it’s scrambled on your device and only unscrambled on the other person’s device.
